2021 Shockey Family Reunion Newsletter

Hi Dear Family,

I hope this finds everyone doing well and hanging in there. This past year has been a difficult one for sure. COVID has changed us all forever in one way or another. Let's continue to be strong and faithful and carry on in HIS name.

We are having our Reunion this year!! We are having to make adjustments to our normal Reunion activities because of COVID but we have never missed a reunion in over 40 years and we will keep on keeping on.

The Charles Town Races are still not serving their buffet in the Skyline Terrace, therefore, we won't be going to the races on Friday night. This is something several of us look forward to every year. We're hoping things will be back to normal next year and we will once again be at "Friday Night at the Races'.

The Shockey Family home church, St. Luke's UMC, recently opened with very strict attendance guidelines. Our committee had a lengthy discussion about church attendance this year. We ultimately felt it is still an individual comfortability level, and feel everyone may want to worship in a place and way they feel personally most comfortable again this year.

Also, since this year our Reunion is on July 4. We moved our "eating/reunion" time to 1:00 PM. This will allow our family members who may have other picnics going on that day the time to attend both picnics. We sure hope you can stop by if only for a short time. It's so important to keep this family tradition going.

Just wanted to mention these few 'exceptions' to this year's Reunion. Our attached family Newsletter has the rest of the information you'll need for our reunion.

Very important for those family members who have received this email, please check for any incorrect or missing family emails. If you know of a family member who does not have an email address, please let them know about the details of this year's Reunion. We try to keep current with emails and we even 'snail mail' but a lot of contact information can change in a year.

Thank you for being an awesome family!

Blessings,

Love to all
